I have high triglycerides and uric acid, how should I eat?

Question: I have high triglycerides and uric acid, what foods and what way to prepare them are the most suitable for a very active woman like me? Matilde (Moguer).

Answer: Uric acid comes from the metabolism of purines, which constitute a part of proteins. For this reason, their dietary treatment consists of reducing the consumption of foods rich in purines (fatty meats, organ meats, pâtés, foie gras, broths, meat cubes, yeast) in addition to following a low fat diet and controlling the intake of alcohol and caffeine.
