There is no consensus as to how many hours it is advisable to watch television every day and from how many hours it could be harmful, nor the distribution of ages for this issue. In this sense, the American Academy of Pediatrics (October 2011) recommends that children under two years of age do not watch television so that they can interact correctly with adults and thus obtain proper brain, intellectual and emotional development.
After two years, these specialists recommend that children do not watch television more than one hour a day, and no more than two hours at older ages.
On the other hand, a recent study showed that the use of electronic devices, including watching television, two hours before going to sleep could cause problems in sleep quality, especially in childhood.
