Could cold and altitude exacerbate hypertension?

Question: I live in a city located at sea level that I moved to when the doctor suggested that the cold and height of Bogotá (2,600 m) could be aggravating my hypertension problems. Is there scientific evidence for this? Carlos (Colombia).

Answer: Although both factors are associated with high blood pressure (HT), most of the time we can treat it simply with diet, exercise and medication, without the need to change addresses.
