Can I travel by plane after an electrophysiological study and an ablation?

Question: I have been diagnosed with Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome and must undergo an electrophysiological study and an ablation. Shortly after the tests are done I plan to take a plane trip. Should I postpone it? Javier (Estella).

Answer: In principle there is no problem for you to travel by plane. The small puncture in the leg of the electrophysiological study and the Wolff-Parkinson-White ablation heal in a very short time. In fact, full recovery usually occurs within 48 or 72 hours. In any case, do not worry because the arrhythmologist will give you the necessary recommendations in your specific case.
